Mining Begins in Cooglegong Area
Transcript

A general exodus of natives from the area to the Cooglegong bent on tin mining for McLeod has recently taken place to augment the forces recently transferred from the pilganagoora area. It is doubtful whether the number of full bloods, other than those employed on stations, would now number more than thirty. Information has it that the natives are going to give McLeod a trial to Race Meeting time in September, next and will then decide whether they will continue.
