Andrews strongly supported the movement, but this was not the case with all organisations concerned with Aboriginal issues. This newspaper cutting of a letter to the editor of the Melbourne Herald, written by Andrews, is amongst the papers of former Western Australian Commissioner for Native Affairs, A.O. Neville, together with a letter from C.A.S. Mansbridge, Chairman of the Central Council of the National Association for the Advancement of the Native Race, an organisation founded by Neville.
