Dulcie (Des or Dessie) Stuart was an Indo-Fijian nurse who joined the group in 1953 and immediately took on a leadership role. She became one of the ‘Top Committee’ along with Ernie Mitchell, Peter Coppin and Don McLeod. This photograph, taken by physical anthropologist Norman Tindale, shows her with stockmen at the Yandeyarra cattle yard.
